by Teresa Daniels and Helen English
Each year in the beautiful spring weather of late May or early June we’re blessed with a trip to Florence. The two of us, Helen English and Teresa Daniels meet there with Beatrice Chestnut and Mauro Vedovello, along with an international gathering of Enneagram enthusiasts. We have four incredible days immersed in Dante’s Divine Comedy, discovering extraordinary parallels with the Enneagram, always with new insights and ‘aha’ moments.
"Midway upon the journey of our life I woke to find myself in a dark wood For I had wandered off from the straight path." Dante Alighieri, The Divine Comedy.

Have you ever (like me!) wondered:
-
Why your new year resolutions don’t stick?
-
Why you find yourself upset for no apparent reason?
-
Why in spite of positive affimations you still resist opening up to who your full self can be?
This article considers our type patterns from a somatic* perspective and attempts to explain how integrating a somatic approach can help our own inner journey and also any Enneagram work that we do with others (*somatic simply means “of the body).
Enneagram communities in the UK and Ireland abound. Most Enneagram teachers and practitioners host smaller events and regular group meetings in their area. And find out more about Professional Training programmes offered by our partners.
